The artist/songwriter grew up surrounded by all things music. Mom led the church choir, Dad played with the Talking Heads and Joe Walsh of the Eagles. "My mom was always singing and my dad had his guitars, a couple Les Pauls, hanging up on the wall, and I wanted to be like them" Scott says. "I remember first digging the non-musical concepts of short stories and screen writing and how structured but still creative it was" he describes how he started writing songs. "It really wasn't untill I saw how difficult and demanding it is to write that I knew my heart was in country music," the Knoxville, Tennessee native says. "The melodies are addictive. The lyrics have to be a perfect blend of simplicity and complexity. No other genre demands that; I like that challenge." he says.
